What Makes an Ideal Day?
Have you ever wondered what the ideal day would look like for you? We often get caught up in our daily routine and forget to take a moment to think about what truly brings us joy and fulfillment. So often, the hustle and bustle of life keeps us distracted from asking a couple of very important questions: What makes me happy? What do I enjoy doing each day? What fulfills my soul?
When we begin asking these questions we start to see where and how we are out of alignment with what our soul desires. I think it’s important to ask ourselves what it is that makes us happy and feeling fulfilled. I know for me, as I get older, it’s the simple things in life that truly appeal to me. I love going for a walk or a bike ride with Adi. I enjoy preparing a meal and listening to Big Band music from the 30s and 40s while we cook. I love putting a blanket out on our yard in front of my favorite tree and doing some yoga and a meditation. I love to play chess. The list goes on.

These are some of the very small things that make for an ideal day for me. Yes, most of us get to work a job to provide for our family and this is an essential component for the ideal day because it provides for those we love the most. When we look at “work” through this lens it becomes less of a burden and we can actually give thanks for our job.
Having said that, I think it’s critical that in our free time we become consciously aware of how we want to spend those precious moment in order to light a fire inside our soul. Instead of mindlessly doing things we have done for years because of habits, we can retrain our brain to seek out that which we truly love to do thereby creating the Ideal Day. And the more ideal days we create the more ideal life that manifests.
One key aspect of an ideal day is identifying the things that speak to our soul. Whether it’s spending time with loved ones, pursuing a hobby or passion, or simply taking a moment to appreciate the beauty of the world around us, these moments of connection and meaning are what make life truly worth living.
At the same time, an ideal day also involves giving back to others through acts of service. By helping others and making a positive impact in the world, we not only contribute to the greater good but also bring out our own greatest potential as human beings.
In order to achieve this balance between self-care and service, it’s important to prioritize our time and energy in a way that aligns with our values and goals. This may mean setting aside dedicated time each day for activities that bring us joy and fulfillment, while also seeking out opportunities to volunteer or contribute to causes that resonate with us.
