Unveiling the Wisdom of Quietude
In the quiet recesses of my soul, a story gently emerged—a tale of a young girl named Rumi, whose wisdom transcends her years. It was my wife who encouraged me to venture beyond the familiar shadows of male protagonists and embrace the light of a female hero. Thus, I began weaving the threads of Rumi’s journey, inspired by the poet whose words have always been my guiding star.
This tale unfolds with a girl endowed with deep spiritual gifts and profound wisdom that radiates from her very being. Her mother, recognizing her daughter’s uniqueness, begins to read the private musings inscribed in her “Little Red Book.” The pages overflow with wisdom:
“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.”
“Let the beauty we love be what we do.”
One day, Rumi’s mother fell ill, and with her intuitive gifts, Rumi sensed the inevitable. She knew her mother was nearing the end, and she began to brace herself for the loss of the one constant that had always provided her with a sense of belonging. Her mother passed away, leaving Rumi alone with her thoughts and her cherished Little Red Book. She writes:
“Don’t grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form.”
Rumi’s wisdom is timeless and profound, and it isn’t long before she sets out on her own journey, accompanied only by her Little Red Book. Her odyssey begins with a serendipitous encounter—a Monk who plants the seed of a quest in her heart. He speaks of a legendary tree in Sintra in Portugal, rumored to harbor the Profound Love Codes within its roots—codes that, when activated, unveil the truths of the Universe. Drawn by this tale, Rumi sets out for Sintra and with each step her journey, her Little Red Book absorbs the silent wisdom of the world, teaching her—and us—that sometimes the loudest truths are spoken in silence.
“Quietude” is more than a mere narrative; it’s a reflection of the magic we all carry within us, waiting to be discovered. It’s an invitation to heed the whispers of our hearts and find the courage to follow where they lead. As the Sufi poet Rumi beautifully said, “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.”
Join me on this journey. Let Rumi’s story inspire yours. May her quest for wisdom and love encourage you to explore the depths of your own heart.
Warm regards,
David
